Professor Marek Trněný is a hematologist and Head of the First Department of Medicine at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague. He is a founding member and Chairman of the Czech Lymphoma Study Group, a member of the Executive Committee of the LymphomaHub, a member of the Executive Committee of the European Lymphoma Institute, and an active member of numerous national and international scientific organizations. His primary research interests focus on the biology and modern treatment of lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He serves as principal investigator and co-investigator of national and international clinical trials conducted through the Czech Lymphoma Study Group in collaboration with international research consortia. In 2022, he was elected a member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic, and in 2025 he was elected Chairman of the Czech Medical Academy.
